About

alvem.app is the home of two astrology and sky-tracking apps made by EMA Studios, and of the guides that explain the knowledge behind them in plain language.

What we make

ALVEM is an astrology app that reads the sky through your birth chart. Built on the chart calculated from your birth date, time and place, it offers daily guidance, a monthly outlook and eleven chart types, from the natal chart and synastry to transits and solar and lunar returns. It is available in Turkish and English.

Moon Compass (Ay Pusulası) is a standalone app that tracks void of course Moon periods for your city and finds suitable time windows for what you plan to do. It is available on Google Play; on iPhone and iPad its web version can be added to the Home Screen.

What is on this site

Cosmic Charts Guide — what each of the eleven chart types is, how it is calculated and what it looks at.
Moon Compass Guide — the void of course Moon, Moon phases, retrograde periods, planetary hours and choosing the right time.
Turkish versions of both guides: Kozmik Haritalar and Ay Pusulası Rehberi.

How we calculate

Planet positions, houses and void of course periods are computed by a calculation engine we built ourselves. Its results are automatically tested against an independent reference dataset covering the years 1850–2149, with arc-second level thresholds. Void of course times are calculated separately for more than 300 cities, using each city's location and time zone.

The examples and figures in the guides come from what the apps actually compute, not from made-up numbers.

How we write

We present astrology as a tradition and a language of interpretation, not as a scientific certainty, which is why the guides use "tradition says" language. Nothing on this site is medical, legal or financial advice.
