Moon Compass Guide

The ideas, calculations and traditional meanings behind the app. Written to be readable without any background in astrology; claims are presented as what tradition holds, not as scientific fact.

What is void of course?

A rhythm that occurs 13 times a month and can be calculated to the minute. What it means, how long it lasts, what tradition advises.

Moon phases

Eight phases from New to Full, the waxing/waning distinction, and why peak times are given to the minute.

Retrograde periods

Mercury, Venus and Mars. What is really happening, what tradition says, and what popular culture exaggerates.

Planetary hours

The Chaldean order, day rulers, and unequal hours counted from sunrise. Why they shift from city to city.

Choosing the right time

What electional timing is, and how the Best Time Finder uses nine criteria — three as filters, six as scores.

FAQ

"What happens if I act during a void?", "why did the time change when I switched city?" and other real questions.

Why this guide exists

Moon Compass is a timing tool: it answers "when should I do this?" with a calculation. Explaining every concept inside the app would crowd the screen. These pages fill that gap.

All of it is written from what the app actually computes — the planetary hour examples, the retrograde percentages and the scoring logic are values the code produces, not invented ones.
